Donald Trump ended Relationship with WHO and accused the World Health Body for sharing wrong information regarding coronavirus pandemic. On Sunday again, Mr.Trump said the US consider rejoining WHO only if corruption ends and stops reliance on China.
US National Security Advisor Robert O’Brien told ABC News said,“The WHO needs to reform. What the president said, if the WHO reforms and ends the corruption and ends the reliance on China, the US will very seriously consider coming back”.
The US said a huge amount of 400 million that goes to WHO will be spent on other international public health bodies.
O’Brien also added that the US is saving lives of HIV and AIDS victims in Africa since long years and it is not WHO.
“The WHO isn’t saving lives for AIDS and HIV victims in Africa. It’s the United States and our generous taxpayers who are saving those lives in Africa. We”re not doing it through the WHO. We’re doing it as the United States of America,” he said.
He gave the assurance of spending funds on the doctors without borders and the red cross and the health centers. The funds which are going to WHO als these days would now go to healthcare centers globally.
He said US health related funds “doesn’t go through a corrupt international organisation that’s controlled by the Chinese Communist Party. That’s for sure”.
Mr.Trump sent a detailed letter of four pages to WHO director general, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus previously. Trump also warned that the US would stop funding WHO and withdraw relationships permanently. The rejoining is only possible if WHO reforms with major improvements within 30 days.
He sent the withdrawal only after 10 days of the letter sent.
