Starting July 10, all the passengers from selected green zones will be able to enter England without needing to self isolate.

Under the COVID-19 rules by the UK, travelers from any part of the world coming to the country have to self isolate for 14 days. Scrapping the rules of self isolation, UK government is starting to allow travelers from 60 low risk countries to enter into the country without the need of 14 day quarantine.

The UK Foreign Travel Advisory has released the list of 60 countries which come under the green zone or quarantine free travel zone on Friday.

India and the US are among the countries that are excluded from this list.

The list of these 60 countries which comes under the green zone includes Germany, Spain, Italy, France, Australia and New Zealand.

Some of the Asian countries in the list include Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Vietnam, Mauritius and Seychelles which come under popular travel destinations.

“Today marks the next step in carefully reopening our great nation”, said UK Transport secretary Grant Shapps.

This decision comes as good news to all the holiday goers, businessmen who want to start their business abroad and also as great news for British Businesses.

The minister has also said that the nation has worked tirelessly to achieve this stage and safety remains their top priority and the country would not hesitate to move quickly to protect the countrymen if the infections rise again.

The UK government mentioned that people arriving from green zones need not isolate except if they have been in or transitioned through high risk countries in the preceding 14 days.

However, devolved administrations would set out their own rules of exemptions. So, passengers returning to Ireland, Scotland and Wales would be subjected to different quarantine rules until they confirm their travel strategies.

Also, holiday makers and businesses travelers traveling to and from certain destinations in the UK need not self isolation on either leg of their journey.

The list of these 60 exempted countries would be kept under constant review so that if COVID-19 cases increase self isolation measures could be re-introduced.

The US is the worst-affected country with over 2.7 million cases and over 128,000 deaths. The UK has over 285,000 cases with more than 44,000 fatalities.
