The Independence Day of India on August 15th was celebrated not only in India but also across the world. The countries across the globe solidarity with India and greeted the Indians as well as Indian nationals living in their country the 71st Independence Day.
Indians in various countries such as United States, Australia, Japan, China, Egypt, Israel Singapore as well as South Africa celebrated the the proudest day in the history of India by hoisting the flag and singing the patriotic songs.
Although the armies of both the countries of India and China are in front of each other in Doklam region and the relationship of India-China are not so good on the political front, large number of people gathered at the Embassy of India in Beijing along with Indian Consul General Prakash Gupta and Indian envoy to Beijing, Vijay Gokhale, who read also read out the address of the President Ram Nath Kovind on the eve of the Independence Day,, to celebrate the Indian Independence Day.

Extending his wishes to Indians on the independence day, Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull said that the day is knows as the “achievement of sovereignty and freedom of world’s largest democracy”.
The iconic City Hall as well as the VIC Bridge in Brisbane lighted up in the colours of the tricolor on the day.

Indian actress Aishwarya Rai, who was present in Melbourne as a special guest for the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne, hoisted the tricolour.

In Singapore, along with Indian High Commissioner Jawed Ashraf, around 700 Indians celebrated the day.

In the United Kingdom, too, the independence day was celebrated joyously. The Indian community in UK also participated in the first ever one-mile Freedom-run, organized to commemorate the 71st Indian Independence Day starting from the Parliament Square.
The Edinburgh Castle was also lightened up in the tricolour on the auspicious day.

In Egypt, along with Indian envoy, Sanjay Bhattacharya, who hoisted the tricolor on the independence day, the Indian community participated in the independence day ceremony.

Israel, the country which was recently visited by the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, also celebrated the independence day of India with the Indian diaspora. The Indian tricolor was also displayed at the iconic Rubin Square. The Jewish Indian community also raised the slogans, “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”, according to the reports.
South Africa, the country where the Mahatma Gandhi started his journey of Satyagraha, which led to the non-violent Indian freedom struggle and in turn the Indian independence on August 15, 1947, witnessed the lightning of the Gandhi symbols for the first time.

In the United States, which has a large population of Indian nationals, the independence day of India was celebrated with organizing of various cultural performances, in which large number of Americans also participated. The Indian-Americans also hoisted the national flag of India in a grand ceremony.
The iconic Empire State building was also decked up in the tricolor on the auspicious day.

On the occasion of Independence day both the President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed their thoughts on new and transforming India and said that problems such as poverty, illiteracy does not stand any chance in it.
PM Modi also urged that Kashmir problem will not be solved by abuse or bullets and only love and solve it.
