The covid-19 infection has grappled the entire world, affecting almost all the countries globally, some countries worse than the other. United States, with over 587,000 confirmed cases is the present epicentre of the disease.
Swathi Devineni, a telugu NRI based out of New Jersey was booked by the New Jersey police after she compared India’s response to Covid-19 with that of the United States.
As per the reports from the cops, the complaint was lodged by Sravan, another US-based NRI against Swathi when he heard her drawing the “unnecessary comparison” between the responses of the two countries.
In the video that has been circulated around on WhatsApp, Swathi has been found making comments saying that the U.S has failed to curb the spread of the coronavirus while India has been successful enough in doing so.
According to the video, which has been very hard to decipher as she has been found speaking Telugu, she stated saying, “US is a rich country with enough mechanism but could not do anything about it. While India forecasted it and prevented it successfully.”
She proceeds on by saying “Mera Bharat Mahaan” all the while consistently slamming the efforts put in by U.S.
Swathi further went to on saying that the way that U.S has been handling this situation has been very irresponsible, stating that they don’t even have enough space to bury the dead. They are supposedly getting buried in public parks.
Following the video going viral, Sravan came forward and lodged a complaint against Swathi, claiming this to be wrong.
