Paneer and Methi Pulao is mouth-watering flavored rice dish which is a popular dish in the restaurant. This dish is very quick and easy to prepare and also taste delicious. This dish has a nice taste and flavor of different seasoning and also has a unique combination of methi leaves and paneer. This dish perfect option for weeknight dinner. Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups long grained rice (basmati)
- 3 to 4 garlic (lehsun) cloves
- 2 tsp chili powder
- 1/2 cup chopped fenugreek (methi) leaves
- 1 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms (khumbh)
- 3/4 cup chopped paneer (cottage cheese)
- lemon juice for garnishing
- oil for cooking
Directions
- Heat the oil in a kadhai and deep fry the paneer till golden brown in colour and drain on an absorbent paper and keep it aside.
- Heat 3 tsp of oil in a pressure cooker, add the garlic and fry it till garlic turns brown in color.
- Add the chili powder and turmeric powder, mix it well and fry for half a minute and add the mushrooms and fenugreek leaves, mix it well and fry till the methi is half cooked.
- Add the rice and mix it well and cook on a medium flame for 5 to 6 minutes.
- Add the fried paneer and 4 cups of water, mix it well and pressure cook for 25 until the rice is cooked.
- Once cooked, switch off the flame and garnish with lemon juice and serve it hot with any raita of your choice.
