With a growth rate of 63.97% over the decade, this believed to be the fastest growing ethnic group in the United States. The name of Senator Kamala Harris is not unknown to any of the residents staying there.

An Indian American political action committee, also known as the IMPACT fund which has been funding the Indian origin candidates for public office recently announced its endorsement on April 17th, 2019. According to that, they are going to full fledgedly support the U.S Senator Kamala Harris for the Presidential candidature of the United States.

Raj Goyle, co-founder of IMPACT and a former member of the Kansas House of Representatives quoted saying that in such an important and critical election which is going to shape the policy and politics for the coming generations, it is not affordable for the Indian Americans to stay on the sidelines.

He further added saying, “That’s why IMPACT Fund is proud to be the first Indian American or Asian American political organization to endorse Senator Harris.”

Addressing the constant support and endorsement, Harris expressed her overwhelming gratitude by stating, “This endorsement and the support of the Indian American Impact Fund and its members means so much to me.” According to her, she suggested that they are going to fight for the future of America which helps restore the values of not just truth but justice as well for the working people – their main aim being the expansion of health care and improved imcome.

Goyle further said that in the forthcoming months, he and his team are going to focus on mobilizing the network of resources to ensure that Senator Harris is able to secure the Democratic nomination following which the chances of being elected as the next President of the Unites States of America will become more viable.

The IMPACT fund does witness Harris as a source of public safety for an lifetime along with a viable civil rights leader. They further predicted for a fact that when Harris will be elected as the President of the United States, she is not just going to be the first woman but the first Indian-American, first Asian American and the first African American to hold that specific post of honour.

Believing on the fact that Kamala Harris is a tested leader who has time and time demonstrated her dedication and commitment to the progress of the country’s growth and values, she is one of the most eligible candidates, if not the most, said Aruna Miller, the executive director of IMPACT.

If the statistics from IMPACT are to be believed, in the year of 2018, there were 100 Indian Americans who ran for office in 29 of the states, out of which the IMPACT fund endorsed 27 of them. 44% of them won the races in the month of November, so it can be hoped that the odds play out nicely for Kamala Harris too.
