Armenia PM Nikol Pashiyan and his family tested positive for coronavirus as cases increased in the country. He posted a self recorded video to pass the information about virus infection. He said, his family is also affected with coronavirus after the test on Monday.
The Prime Minister said in the video, there were no “visible symptoms” of COVID-19. He would work from home to complete his duties. He stays with his journalist wife and 4 children.
Armenia has a total population of 3 million and the virus has infected 9,492 people and the death rate is 139. Coronavirus outbreak is uncontrollable in Armenia and there is a shortage of space to treat the victims. The intensive care would be restricted to patients further with best survival chances- said the health officials.
The country lifted up the lockdown on May 4 and saw rapid increases in coronavirus positive cases. Mr.Pashiyan accepted that they have failed to observe strict measures to avoid virus spread. The widespread of quarantine violations is one of the causes for a rise in positive cases in Armenia.
