While the entire world has been consistently battling a global pandemic, some of the NRIs from Canada and US have not forgetting about their villages and villagers who are in a poor condition during the lockdown.
Some of the NRIs from Canada and United States and a few other countries have come forward and lend their helping hand to the poor of the society, to the villagers who are in need of the help during this time of crisis. Several of the villages across Ludhiana and a number of other states have been reached out by the NRIs from across the world to help them during this state of crisis.
One such example is in the Kamalpura village in Jalgaon where NRI Amarjit Singh Hansran who is based out of England sponsored food kits for over 70 families in the village.
The sarpanch of the village stated saying that after they received the call from Amarjit, they went out and bough ratio kits worth INR 1500 and distributed the same among the villagers who are in dire need of the same.
Amarjit was supposed come visit the village in March and stay there for four months but plans did change because of the threat imposed by the global pandemic surrounding the world.
Kaddon village has also started an initiative titled Kaddon Nishkam Sewa Society under which they have already provided with meal kits to over 600 migrant workers who are stuck because of the lockdown and are unable to go back home.
The sarpanch of the Kaddon village has stated that several NRIs have come forward during this time to contribute their part to the cause. The ration kits that they have distributed consists of 10kg wheat flour, 2.5kg rice, 2kg salt, 1.5kg dal, 2kg sugar, 250g tea, chilli powder, turmeric powder, 1 kg of oil or ghee.
Even in Shahpur village, NRI Shinder Singh, who is based out of US has supported 70-80 families by providing them with the ration kits. The rations are being distributed among the needy by Singh’s relative.
These are a few positive examples of how several of the NRIs are coming forward during this time of crisis to help out the people who are in need of it. More and more such inspiring stories are being told to further help motivate more such initiatives to support each other during this time of crisis.
