New York is the hotspot of the coronavirus cases in the United States, reporting over half of the confirmed cases in the country.
Recently, according to reports, an NRI named Ashok Kumar who hails from a village in Phagwara died because of the covid-19 complications in New York on Friday night.
As per the reports from his relatives who are residing in Phagwara, they stated that his son, Deepak Sharma has also been tested positive for the virus and is critical at the moment. Further reports on his son’s condition have not been reported yet.
It has not been disclosed as to exactly why Ashok Kumar died, but it is believable that the respiratory complications are what made him succumb to his death.
The deceased visited India just a few months back and then returned to New York after a few days of visiting.
New York current has over 4000 reported deaths, which is around half of the total reported deaths in the United States. The number of confirmed cases in the US has already surpassed 325,000.
