Several Non- resident Indians in the Gulf region have landed in trouble in the recent years for making provocative posts on the social media among which many of the posts have been related to the themes that are close to right- wing causes.

The Gulf News, which is a news publication in the United Arab Emirates has reported on Sunday that hundreds of people had taken to social media which were about calling for an immediate arrest of Trilok Singh who is a chef.

It has been identified that the chef Trilok Singh has allegedly made threats against a law student in Delhi who is named as Swati Khanna. Trilok Singh has allegedly wrote in Hindi, “You eat in India and sing in Pakistan” . he had written this as he was referring to her criticism of the Citizenship Amendment Act that has been passed by the government of India and Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi.

Trilok Singh has been identified as a 38- year- old and a head chef at the Grand Barbeque Indian restaurant at the 24 Gold Hotel near the Gold Souk in Deira. Iot has been identified that the head chef Trilok Singh was originally from Bainjawari, Uttarakhand and that he had been working at the restaurant for the last two years.

Swati Khanna has posted a screenshot of abusive message in Hindi on the 29th of February. The abusive message in Hindi which has been shared by Swati Khanna was apparently written by Trilok Singh in Facebook where in she has been described as a prostitute and that she would be raped in Delhi itself.

The screenshot whi9ch was posted by Swati Khanna was shared by nearly 600 people on Facebook while many others have also shared the screenshots of the messages along with the images of the chef Trilok Singh omn the social media platform Twitter.

The Facebook account of the chef Trilok Singh has been deactivated soon after the incident has taken place.

Trilok Singh had also mentioned the Lalit Hotel Group as his employer on Facebook which in turn dragged the Lalit Hotel Group company into the controversy as well. The Lalit Hotel Group has tweeted where in it has mentioned that it hyas been recently noticed a series of tweets about the chef Trilok Singh and that the behavior of the chef has been strongly condemned by the the Lalit Hotel Group company and it has also clarified that Trilok Singh is not a part of @thelalitgroup since the last two years. The Lalit Hotel Group company has also said that it has been reporting the profile of Trilok Singh to the Facebook in order to remove his current working status.

During the previous year, an Indian man who has been working in Dubai was deported as he had celebrated the terror attacks that had happened in New Zealand which had targeted Muslims and also in the year 2018, a Keralite who was working in a oil company in Abu Dubai had been deported for threatening to kill Pinarayi Vijayan who is the Chief Minister of Kerala.
