Mr Rajesh Chaplot who is a distinguished Non- resident Indian businessman has been honored with the Highest Civilian Award (Golden Jubilee Medal- Civilians) of Uganda.
The award has been presented to the NRI businessman Rajesh Chaplot in a ceremony in Kampala by His Excellency Hon’ble President of Uganda, Mr Yoweri Museveni.
Mr Rajesh Chaplot has been bestowed upon by the accolade for his excellence in the field of Business and Commerce, Social Service and also for fostering better ties between India and Uganda.
The NRI businessman Rajesh Chaplot hails from Udaipur in Rajasthan and he has also been a proud recipient of Pravasi Bharatiya Samman which is said to be the highest award for the overseas Indians.
The highest award for the overseas Indians Pravasi Bharatiya Samman has been awarded to Mr Rajest Chaplot by His Excellency Shri. Ramnath Kovind who is the Hon’ble President of India, during last year in Varanasi.
Mr Rajesh Chaplot has expressed feeling humbled as well as honored in receiving the award from the honourable Presidents of both the countries of Uganda as well as India as he had described the country India as his ‘Janma Bhoomi’ which translates to place of birth and the country Uganda as ‘Karma Bhoomi’ which translates to place of work.
He added saying that he would continue to strive for making positive contribution for not only to the country Uganda but also to India where he was born.
Mr. Rajesh Chaplot is said to be the son of Late Shri. Sampat Lal Chaplot and Shyama Devi Chaploty from Udaipur. the NRI businessman Rajesh Caplot is said to have three brothers, Dr. Chander Chaplot, ENT specialist and Mr Dilip Chaplot who is a Mechanical Engineer reside in Udaipur where as the third sibling named Prakash Chaplot is a Software Engineer and is based in the Unite States.
Mr Rajesh Chaplot has done his schooling in St Paul’s School in Udaipur and has obtained his CA degree from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India which is located at New Delhi.
He has migrated to Africa in the year 1996 where in he first migrated to Congo and then to Uganda after two years.
Mr Rajesh Caplot is currently spearheading several companies and also business associations in Uganda and also in Congo in various roles like Managing Director, Chief Executive Officer, Director and Board Member and he was also the former Chairman of the Indian Association of Uganda, Secretary General of Indian Business Forum Uganda and the Board Member of the Uganda Manufacturers Association.
The Non- resident Indian businessman Mr. Rajesh Chaplot is said to be currently residing in Kampala in Uganda along with his wife Pratibha. The couple have been blessed with two daughters with one being named as Krati who is currently working at London and the other named Savi who is working at Dubai.
