One person has been arrested while two of his accomplices are wanted for allegedly cheating a real estate developer from Bhiwandi of Rs 65 lakh. The police said the accused had promised the builder, Avinash Patil, Rs 100 crore for his business projects.
The accused trio includes an NRI living in Indonesia.
While kingpin Ghanshyam Sharma (53) has been arrested, his accomplices Minali Das alias Manshi and Dr Subramaniam. are wanted, the police said.
The accused had often taken money from Patil to arrange for the finances, he required, said senior police inspector Balasaheb Kadam.
