Mike Pence, the Vice President of United States, is not in quarantine according to his spokesperson. This was reported on Sunday and came as a shock even when a close aide of Pence tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

The Vice President’s spokesperson, Devin O’Malley reported that Pence himself has tested negative for the virus and is going to resume working at the White House on Monday.

The news of Pence resuming work at the White House came amid the reports suggesting that Pence would be self isolating after being advised by the medical officials. He was also asked to limit his exposure with other people as well.

“Vice President Pence will continue to follow the advice of the White House Medical Unit and is not in quarantine. Vice President Pence has tested negative every single day and plans to be at the White House tomorrow,” O’Malley said.

Mike Pence’s press secretary Katie Miller was the one tested positive for Covid-19 on May 08, making her the second positive case in the White House complex to test positive for the virus. Aside from her, a member of the military serving as one of the valets of US President Donald Trump also tested positive for the virus.

President Trump has reported that he is not worries about the virus spreading in the White House. He further clarified that the officials have been asked to further step up the safety protocols involved inside the complex.

Aside from President Trump and Vice President Pence, several of the other individuals are also being tested for the novel coronavirus on a daily basis. But, reports suggest that both Trump and Pence have defied the medical experts’ guidance and not worn masks as they were asked to.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, who is also heading the White House coronavirus task force, Dr. Robert Redfield, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and Dr. Stephen Hahn have reportedly gone into self isolation for the coming weekend.

Fauci reported to the media that he is subjecting himself to a modified quarantine even though he has tested negative for the virus. He also reported that he has not been in close contact with Katie Miller.

In the meantime, the death toll in the United States has already surpassed 80,000 and has infected over 1.3 million people in the country.
