According to the communique published by the Kerala Government after the meeting with the Supreme Council Member and the ruler of Sharjah Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the driving license, which is valid in Sharjah will now be available in Kerala for the people visiting UAE.
The state government, in appreciation, has also decided to provide land for constructing the building for UAE Consulate in the capital city of Thiruvananthapuram. Currently the consulate is based in a rested building in the city.
The Sharjah government, on demand of Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, will also work on constructing Kerala Cultural Center in Sharjah. The center will be built on 20 acres filed and will showcase the culture of Kerala and along with the importance of Ayurveda.
For supervising the building of the initiative a joint high power committee of executives from Sharjah and Kerala will also be made.
United Arab Emirates has one of the largest population of Indians and most of them comes from Kerala as well as the South Indian region.
