An introductory conference convened under the aegis of National Council of Asian Indian Association leaders, joined their hands together to give a warm welcome to Consul General of India named Amit Kumar, the Consul General of India in Chicago. He is working hard interacting with the vanguard of frontline “Indian Task Force” leaders.

While the task force welcomed the other members of the society, they specially appraised ambassador Amit Kumar for his efforts in midwestern states.

He provided medical supplies, gave personal equipment as an assistance in navigating through government loans, accommodation to stranded students in the USA and supplied food to the elderly senior citizens.

All the task force team members have been working 24/7 in providing support to all the affected communities. These sincere efforts talk about the humanity in them.

This partnership between community leaders and Consul General Amit Kumar has most importantly helped everyone affected by the pandemic.

Apart from this, these collective task forces have people appreciating them for providing physicians, personal protective equipment , free consultation to business leaders, providing assistance with loans, free services for legal assistance, wellness checks, free meals, free hotel room accommodations for stranded students, appointing volunteers to help senior citizens, giving shelter, spiritual counselling and launching educational assistance to everyone impacted with this virus.

These task forces haven’t only focused on helping the Indian Americans but they extended their support to the Americans too.

Amit Kumar praises all the volunteers for their exceptional service and help in times of stress. Once life goes back to normal, Amit Kumar says that he would like to meet the members in person and be a part of this community.

He wants to ensure providing his best support in meeting the goals and missions made by the co-operation of his office. Further, he spoke about the steps taken by Embassy and Consulates to assist Indians.

He urged the members to closely follow Consulate’s website and social media platforms for further updates. Also, in case of any emergency, he advised to contact Consulate’s helplines during an emergency.

The President of NCAIA, Harish Kolasani has never seen a situation where community leaders came together with so much dedication to help people fight against this pandemic and he appreciated everyone during the conference call.

This entire task force was motivated by Consul General Sudhakar Dalela who provided support in formulating the task force with a mission in mind followed by Amit Kumar’s efforts in making it work.

Consul Ranjit Singh and Consul P.K. Misra from the Indian Consulate have actively been guiding this group.

Many other important members who attended this conference call from different places were appreciated and without them the task force wouldn’t have been a success mission.
