A 16 year old pupil of an Indian school in Dubai has been tested positive for the deadly novel coronavirus which has been officially named as COVID-19. The total number of confirmed cases of being infected with COVID-19 in United Arab Emirates is said to be 27, as said by the health authorities.

It has been said that the infection has been contracted for the parent of the pupil who had travelled overseas and that the parent of the pupil has been developed the symptom from five days after returning to Dubai.

Both the student, he parents and also the other family members have been quarantined in hospital and are in a stable condition and are recovering well, as said by the Dubai Health Authority on Wednesday.

It has been said by the authorities that tests are being conducted and the other students of the school, the staff and the other workers who have come in contact with the patient are also being monitored.

The authority has said that stringent pro- active precautionary measures are being taken by the Dubai Health Authority in order to ensure the health, safety and also the well- being of the pupils of the school and their families. He has added saying that instructions have been issued regarding the suspension of the classes in the school has been given in co- ordination with the Knowledge and Human Development Authority.

The Ministry of Education has said that all the schools and the universities in the United Arab Emirates would be closed starting from next week for a month.

It has been said that the first two weeks would be Spring break which has been scheduled to start on the 29th of March initially and that the distance learning would be implemented during the second two weeks during which all the educational facilities which includes buildings and the buses would be sanitized.

It has also been decided that private schools have been urged for setting up distance- learning programs on their own or to expand the e- learning tools that are already in existence such as Google classroom, ClassDojo and Seesaw in order to cover the school day.

The Dubai Health Authority has been closely working with the Ministry of the Health and also in accordance with the other authorities and the stakeholders in order to stay safe and take counter measures against the disease in accordance with the recommendations and standards of the World Health Organization (WHO).

The coronavirus which has been officially named as COVID-19 has been first identified in the Wuhan city of the Peoples Republic China and it has spread across several nations where in it has claimed lives of several people and has infected many more. The first case of death that has been recorded as being caused by getting infected by the deadly COVID-19 was recorded in Philippines.

The number of confirmed cases of infected by the deadly COVID-19 has been recorded to be 95,606 and the number of deaths that has been caused due being infected by the deadly virus has been recorded to be 3,287 in number.
