Prem Rampersaud, 50-year-old Indian origin man has been charged with murder for stabbing his wife to death in the streets. He lives in Guyana and is temporarily residing with a friend in Queens.
Queens District Attorney Richard Brown had said that he has been charged with murder in the multiple stabbing death of his wife Rajwantie Baldeo, 46, on the streets in Queens.
“This was an especially violent crime in which the defendant is accused of viciously taking the life of the woman he purportedly loved by repeatedly stabbing her following a heated verbal argument. If convicted, her brutal and senseless death merits serious punishment,” Brown said in a statement.

“My dad was a very bad person, my mom didn’t deserve to die like that,” Shalhi Ronaldo Ramjaiwan, 30, daughter of the accused said.
“He was a drunken type, he always threatened he would kill her,” she said.
“He said his wife was cheating on him, but that was BS,” she said. “I called his daughter in Guyana, they have four kids together, three girls and one boy.”
Police had said that the surveillance showed Rampersaud walking towards the victim, grabbing her arm and pulling her back toward a fence. She fought back, but he overpowered her and the video shows Rampersaud dragging her to the ground right by a tree, according to authorities.
Witnesses had told the police that when Rampersaud confronted his wife, he slapped her, choked her, and attempted to remove her head with a knife. The woman’s head remained partially attached.
