A UAE- based Indian man has sustained severe burn injuries while he was trying to save his wife from a fire that has broke in their apartment in Umm Al Quwain, Dubai on Wednesday.
The Indian man has been identified as Anil Ninan, a 32- year old United Arab Emirates (UAE)- based Indian man who has been fighting for his life as he has sustained 90 percent burn injuries. It is being said that Anil Ninan is currently being treated at the Mafraq hospital in Abu Dhabi, as told by a close relative to Khaleej Times.
July who is a relative of Anil Ninan has said that he is in all their prayers as the doctors have told that the condition of Anil is very critical.
The wife of Anil Ninani named Neenu has also been admitted in the same hospital and that her condition is said to be stable. The relative has said that Neenu has been suffering with only 10 per cent of burns and is doing okay.
The couple is said to be from Kerala and has a son of four years old.
The fire has broke out in the apartment during the night on Monday. The cause of the fire is suspected to be because of a short circuit from an electric box which is placed in the corridor of their apartment in Umm Al Quwain. As soon as the couple has suffered burns, they have been rushed to the Sheikh Khalifa General Hospital in Umm Al Quwain on Monday during night after which they have been shifted to the Mafraq hospital in Abu Dhabi for critical care on Tuesday, as told by Rev Sojan Thomas who is the vicar of St Thomas Mar Thoma Church in Ras Al Khaimah to Khaleej Times.
The vicar has added saying that though he had not known the exact details, Neenu had caught fire first as she was in the corridor which later spread to her husband Anil who has rushed towards her from the bedroom in order to safe her.
He described the couple being very religious and that they would come to the church every week.
