With the world under the grasp of the deadly novel coronavirus, countries are under complete lockdowns or have stay at home orders imposed to further contain the spread of the virus.
But, amidst all these scary situations, the frontline works have been consistently working to provide for the people and ensure that everyone is safe and in their best health, even when their own health is at stake.
Showing gratitude to such actions, a group of children between the age of one month to 12 years created signs of their own to thank the frontline workers and the kind of contribution they showcase for the society. All the children hailed from Cayman.
The Indian community in Cayman have been experiencing hardships amidst the pandemic, much like the rest of the citizens around.
While some people are eagerly waiting for things to resume so they can get back to work, some stranded Indians are waiting for flights to become operational so they can return home. In the meantime, with the stay at home orders, they are keeping themselves occupied inside the home with the kids and helping them out with their school work.
Kousalya Rozario, a dietician and mother, who originally hails from India but resides in Cayman wanted to put together a project that would have keep the children engaged and hooked throughout.
“I didn’t get the idea from anywhere specific. I just thought it would be nice to get the children involved in something positive while showing our support for the island,” Rozario said.
When the idea of showing thankfulness to the frontline workers via their children came to her mind, she contacted her relatives and neighbours. She then assigned each word to one household and told them to write it down on a piece of paper and click a picture with the kid holding it.
Rozario then asked them to forward the image to her, so she could compile it.
“To all the front line essential workers, supermarkets and food deliverers for the needy in Cayman and around the world. We thank U so much. #stayhomecayman,” the final compiled message read.
With something different to add to their schedules, the kids enjoyed being part of this and exploring new things to do. They were pretty excited to see how the end results turned out, as said by Rozario.
