President Donald Trump has picked up Indian American Vishal Amin as the new ‘IP czar’ to coordinate with the US law-enforcement strategy on copyright, patents and trademarks.
Amin has been nominated as the Intellectual Property Enforcement Coordinator in the executive office of the President, the White House had said on Friday as Trump has made a number of key administrative appointment.

If accepted by the US Senate, Amin will succeed Daniel Marti. Amin is currently the Senior Counsel in the House Judiciary Committee.
He has served in the administration of President George W Bush at the White House, as associate director for domestic policy and at the US Department of Commerce, as special assistant and associate director for policy in the office of the secretary, a statement had said.

Amin has received his bachelor’s degree in neuroscience from Johns Hopkins University and his law degree from the Washington University in St Louis.
The Recording Industry Association of America has welcomed his nomination.
