An Indian-American couple is all set to invest $200 million along with the Florida University to improve the medical education in India and to transform healthcare industry in India.

Along with his pediatrician wife Pallavi Patel, Zambia-born cardiologist Kiran Patel recently has started is planning to open a new campus in Tampa for the Nova Southeastern University located near Miami.

Through this initiative, Patel said that he has committed to invest $200 million by 2019 and to set up 40 hectare campus near Vadodara, Gujarat.

While speaking to IANS, Patel said that the lectures will be streamed from the classes in Tampa along with live interaction with the professors. In future the American professor would also be stationed in India and the Indian professors can also be called to teach in Tampa.

He also asserted that the Indian students will now know how the world class colleges works as they will be receiving exposure to the concept of modern healthcare.

The institution, which will be named Kiran And Pallavi Patel University, will issue the Indian degree along with the American colleges. The American college operation from the same university and issuing of American degrees will start from 2020.
