US President Donald Trump intents to appoint an Indian-American Manisha Singh to a key position in the State Department, which can make her the chief of the economic diplomacy, according to the reports published in the media.

Singh, who is currently working as the Chief Counsel and Senior Policy Adviser to the Senator Dan Sullivan, could replace Charles Rivkin as the Assistant Secretary of State for affairs in economic issues, if her posting is confirmed.

Since Rivkin has resigned from the post in January after President Trump’s swearing in ceremony as the 45th President of the United States, the post has been vacant to till date.

45-year-old Singh has the experience of working as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State in Bureau of Economics along with Energy as well as Business Affairs. She has also worked as the Senior Aide to the Senate Committee for Foreign Relations.

Along with this, in the private sector, she has also practiced law at the multinational law firms. Singh has also been the investment banker.

In her educational qualification, Singh has received her LL.M degree in the International Legal Studies from the prestigious American University Washington College of Law. She had completed her BA at the age of 19 from the University of Miami.

Singh, who is native to Uttar Pradesh in India moved to Florida as a child along with her parents. She has also licensed to practice law in Florida, Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia.
