Ohio State Representative Niraj Antani, a Republican from District 42, Miamisburg has been successful in leaving behind his competitor in the campaign fund raising for the District 6 Senate seat that is going to be fought for in November during the elections.

The news daily have reported that Antani was successful in bringing in over $93,000 in the latest reporting period in comparison to Mark Fogel from the Democratic party who could bring in less than $12,000.

The District 6 seat has been in constant reign of GOP since 1985 and the party endorsed the Republican candidate, Antani, voting around 64% in favour of the contender, which is massive. Some of the leading brands that have endorsed Antani include Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, and Lt. Gov. Jon Husted.

Antani has further won the public appreciation when he took a strong stand against the murder of George Floyd when some of the remaining candidates did the opposite on their Twitter account.

On June 04, he even asked all of the constituents to take a moment of silence and join him in commemorating the life of George Floyd.

Not just that, Antani has also been quite vocal about the constant string of racist remarks that he had likely experienced in his life. When Dayton Children’s Hospital reported that they are not going to accept any kind of funding from George McAfee because of his insensitive comments, Antani took to his twitter to appraise the bold move by the hospital.

This is Antani’s third term working the US House of Representatives.

He was first elected when he was 23 and now at 27, he is the youngest serving member of the House. He is also the first Indian American Republican. Currently, Antani serves as the Vice Chairman of the Committee on Insurance, and as a member of the Committee on Health, Committee on Public Utilities, and Joint Medicaid Oversight Committee.

Antani has also worked in the Presidential campaign for Romney in 2012 for the Ohio State Director & Senior Adviser to the campaign. Aside from that, he has also worked in the administration of U.S. Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and U.S. Congressman Mike Turner.

As per the biography that is written on the House of Representative website, Antani was even named in the Forbes Magazine’s list of the top “30 Under 30” people in the United States in the sector of Law and Politics in 2015. Newsmax has named him the 2nd most influential Republican under the age of 30 in US.

Amidst some of the accolades that he has received till date, the one that stands out is the Legislator of the Year Award by the AMVETS Department of Ohio. He received the award for helping veterans . Later in 2018, Antani also received the prestigious Making a Difference award from the Miami Valley Down Syndrome Association for his contribution towards helping people with disabilities.
