The United States Presidential Inauguration that will take place on January 20th will have multiple American celebrities attending the event including comedians, politicians, music artists and of course, the President and the Vice President.
Although unlike the previous presidential inaugurations, this one will be mostly virtual because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The inauguration will include a live virtual ball performance of the Broadway’s Hamilton which will be played by Christopher Jackson and other well known celebrities of the play.
The festivities have been largely graded down due to the pandemic but it will still show grand gesture and support for the new presidential administration.
Lady GaGa pop icon will be singing the National Anthem on the West Front of the Capitol. Other performers include Jennifer Lopez and Garth Brooks.
There will be an evening broadcast by actor Tom Hanks. Other musicians who will be performing include Bruce Springsteen, Katy Perry, John Legend, Foo Fighters, Bon Jovi and Justin Timberlake.
Some of the hosts for the inauguration include Kerry Washington and Eva Longoria. They will also be joined by basketball legend Kareen Abdul Jabbar, chef Jose Andres, Kim Ng, the first female general manager in MLB history and labour leader Dolores Huerta.
The inauguration will involve inspiring American stories from all over the country. There will be tributes to multiple celebrities and common Americans including Sandra Lindsay a kindergarten teacher who is the first American from New York to receive the COVID-19 vaccine outside a clinical trial.
The legendary band Earth Wind & Fire and the new radicals will also be performers at the event. Both the bands will be re-uniting after almost two decades.
There will also be a star power Latino Inaugural hosted by Eva Longoria herself starring Latino icons Rita Moreno, Edward James Olmos and Miranda. They will be honoring the members of the Latino community, front line workers and saluting Puerto Rico.
The event will also be honoring the black community with performances by Tobe Nwigwe, DJ D-Nice, The O’Jays, Rapsody, Step Afrika!, the String Queens and more. The theme for this inaugural will be Breaking Barriers where they will also celebrate the Asian American and Pacific Islander communities. Other participants for this inaugural will include Kal Penn, John Cho, Kumail Nanjiana and Chloe Bennet.
There will also a few comedians present to lighten the show including Randy Rainbow, Michael Ian Black and even members of Congress including Ted Danson, Nicle Brown, Alyssa Milano and others.
The event will throw the spotlight on the difficult years the USA had and honor those who have laid down their lives for the honor of the country. It will also embrace peace, integrity and say no to racism and accept diversity.
Although the even is held virtually, celebrities will be able to interact with each other through personal rooms. Some of the members of the event have found this aspect strange but have accepted it to ensure wellness and not spread the COVID-19 virus.
It is custom that the previous terms President arrive for the event. However, Donald and Melania Trump will not be attending the event due to security reasons. Donald had also stated a few weeks ago after the Capitol attack that he would not be attending the event.
This is going to be the strangest celebration in the history of America but will definitely give motivation for the new presidential administration.
This day will be a holiday for those in and out of Washington DC. The event will be streamed on National Television. The event will also be streaming on Prime video. The event will take place on January 20 around 11:30 AM ET (10PM IST)
