On Sunday, R.Harikumar, a Sharjah-based businessman arranged for a special flight run by Air Arabia for 120 employees and sent them back to Kerala. He gifted everyone a full month’s salary and one goody bag. According to Hindustan Times, after speaking to one of the company’s employee, he even gave them an option to work for his company’s units in Coimbatore in case they didn’t want to return to Sharjah.
Apart from this, this flight even carried 50 people from Kerala who lost their jobs and were keen on going back home. Harikumar is even a popular artist and he said “It is my duty to protect my employees who stood with me through thick and thin, a good business firm is like a family. If employees are in trouble it is the duty of the firm to look after them.”
He was generous enough to mention that he wants to support Indians stranded in the country due to COVID-19 restrictions and are waiting to go back home. About 20 years back, he went to Saudi Arabia from Alappuzha in Kerala in search of a job and slowly became a businessman. His company employs 1200 people and his Elite group of companies is into making Aluminium extrusions in the architectural sector.
