2 in 5 Indian Americans are having concerns on their long term financial stability in the country after this Covid-19 pandemic. A survey was conducted which shows the results about the pandemic on the Indian American community. Almost all of them are making lifestyle changes.

In the last decade there has been about 50%increase in the number of Indians in the United States of America. According to reports by Census Bureau, the number of Indians in Us is over 30 lakhs. Out of those 30 lakh Indians more than 10 lakh are worried about their financial stability. The global health crisis has hit everyone around the world, some different than others. When USA stands to be the worst affected country, it takes toll on the lives and people and also the economy. There have been lay-offs in jobs, no income for businesses and everything is just declining, except the curve of Covid-19 which has been rising since the beginning of this year.

A survey was conducted on the Indian American community to see how the Covid-19 has impacted them and based on that the Foundation for India and Diaspora studies also known has FIIDS cultivated a report. The report says that 30% Indian Americans have had financial impacts on their jobs and as well their internship.

Not just that the reports also says that one in six tested positive or know of a family member who tested positive In the States. Few Indian Americans also faced immigration impacts from this pandemic.

The director of FIIDS, Mr. Khanderao Kand said that they have conducted a first of its kind survey on Indo-Americans to find out the pandemics impact on their lives. In the survey hey founds that many organizations and individuals from the community went beyond to help the people and show humanity. The community was largely helping the mainstream population of the Country with essentials like masks, food, medical help and also the living arrangements.

As one in six have tested positive or know of someone who did, five in six Indian Americans have no change. The survey also says that one in every four Indian American is feeling stressed and hopelessness during these difficult times.

The community has no idea of what is lying ahead, if there will be anything or if their immigration will also be impacts. Almost all of the Indian Americans are changing their lifestyle and making new changes thinking about the future and its uncertainties.

The Contagion called coronavirus has already infected mover then 9.9 million people around the world and of which 4,98,000 have already been deceased. The coronavirus pandemic has also taken over the world’s economy and depleted it. The International Monetary fund has already said that the global economy is suffering and there is a most likely scenario of the world suffering to a severe recession. Many experts have also claimed that it might take 10 years for the world to stand back on its feet again.

The only thing the world is waiting for is a definite cure or vaccine for this coronavirus which originated in China’s Wuhan City in December Last year. Scientists and researchers all over the world are racing to find a vaccine or cure for the treatment.
