Apeksha Bonoj, a Dubai-based teenager has designed the 2020 calender to promote dog adoption. She is considered as one of the youngest fashion designers in asia and has designed more than 200 outfits ever since she has turned 10. Apeksha also owns a her own fashion brand, Apek, with the international models w3alking down the ramp in her outfits.
She has made a 2020 calendar with models posing with dogs that have been rescued and adopted as she aimed at spreading the message of pet adoption.
Apeksha has used her “Gleam Cocktail Collection” to theme her calendar as “Paws for a Cause.”
The teenager decided to promote the pet adoption as she has learnt about many painful stories regarding animal cruelty and abandonment.
“There are lots of dogs that were getting abandoned and were rescued. They were injured and starving. Many were caged for several months, with some eventually being put to sleep,” said Apeksha to the Gulf news.
The calendar showcases different shades of glamour being blended with elegance and the innocence of the adopted and the rescued dogs, which has been shot by Vipin Hari, an international fashion photographer.
The calendar carries an inspiring messages which promotes pet adoption and will be gifted to welfare activists, animal rescue centers etc.
