Nirla Sharma, an Canadian-India, who went missing two months back was reportedly found dead.
The 44-year old Canadian national, who is from New Westminster, British Columbia, went missing on February 24, 2020.
Burnaby RCMP contacted the New Westminster Police Department later on April 26, 2020 to confirm the reports of a deceased person to be that of Mrs. Sharma.
The police found the body of the deceased along the shoreline of the Fraser River which is located on the border of New Westminster and Burnaby.
New Westminster Police were the ones who handled the situation and reported the death.
The New Westminster Sergeant, Jeff Scott also reported that this is an extremely tragic ending in the search for Mrs. Sharma.
Scott further reported that they haven’t found traces of foul play yet but they still need to work to find the exact cause behind the death.
“The New Westminster Police Victim Assistance Unit is providing support to the family during this very difficult and sad time,” Scott further said.
He also thanked the public for their constant time and assistance and understood that the news was anything but easy for them to take in.
