While the entire world is fighting a pandemic, businesses in California have started reopening despite the “Stay at home” orders imposed by the state.
A 24-hour fitness studio in Victorville reopened on Friday by pasting a 8-by-10-foot printout of the Constitution on the wall beside the front gate.
The employees have also revamped the colours of the gym to blue, red and white and even hung up placards saying #GymsAreEssential and #ReopenAmerica.
Even with the reopening of the gym, the owner and the employees have ensured to do their part in cleaning the place and even turning off the entire cardio section to further maintain strict social distancing. The steam rooms, saunas and showers are still unoperational.
Jacob D. Lewis, who is the owner of the fitness studio said that many business owners have found this inspiring and have called him up for advice on how they can reopen their businesses as well.
Aside from that, another business in San Clemente, a restaurant named Nomads Canteen has also reopened for their dine-in services. According to the local daily, it was mentioned that when that first opened up, the restaurants kept all their tables separated from each other. Even the customers maintained their space.
The restaurant has also been outspoken about their reopening on their Facebook page.
Several of the dine-in restaurants, bars, gyms, theatres, nightclubs were all closed down by Governor Newsom following the Covid-19 outbreak.
California was the very first state to impose the state-wide stay at home orders. The experts have credited the fast response and said that the same helped the state curb the rapid rise in the number of confirmed cases.
The state has still experienced the wrath of the same, LA witnessing over half of the deaths in the state itself. This had led to constant tension and stress between the people around.
While the state is still under the stay at home orders for curbing the spread, it looks like the reopening of these areas could end up negatively impacting the control and containment of the virus in the state.
