The political action committee has endorsed few Indian American candidates for the 2020 elections.
ASPIRE PAC which is the political arm of Asian American and Pacific Islander Members of Congress has issued a wave of endorsements which included U.S. House candidates Pritesh Gandhi and Sri Kulkarni in Texas, Hiral Tipireni in Arizona, Raja Krishnamoorthi in Illinios and Pramila Jayapal in Washington, as few among those endorsed by the political action committee.
ASPIRE is said to have endorsed 19 House and Senate candidates for the 2020 cycle so far, considering the announcement made.
Pritesh Gandhi, Sri Kulkarni, Hiral Tipireni as well as a fellow endorsee Gina Ortiz Jones of Texas are seen competing for the seats which would help in flipping their respective states from being Republic to Democrat.
Grace Meng, the chair Congresswoman of ASPIRE said that 20 Asian American and Pacific Islanders have been elected by the Americans in 2018, to Congress. She has also said that the next wave of AAPI Democrats elected to Congress are being supported by ASPIRE and will also be standing with the champions in the House and Senate.
It has been said that the establishment of ASPIRE was made in order to work for fair representation in Congress by lending support and by increasing the number of AAPI policymakers and federal candidates with large AAPI constituencies.
