An American gambler who is an undercover FBI informant and also goes by the name Robin Hood 702, played a key role in a series of events that led the RCMP to charge and arrest  their head of intelligence, Cameron Ortis, with leaking classified information.

Former RCMP intelligence chief is charged with leaking secret operational information to convicted cellphone CEO, Vincent Ramos.

Cameron Ortis, a senior intelligence official at the RCMP, is facing eight counts of violating the Security of Information Act and Two criminal counts. Sources claim that he allegedly  violated the act by obtaining guarded information which was saught for the sole purpose of passing on the information to criminal groups as well as leaking special operational information.

The undercover FBI informant cum gambler R.J Cipriani whose nickname incorporates the 702 Las Vegas area code, built his reputation by winning money in casinos and using this money to donate to social causes. He is known to have donated to several charities across USA and Canada anonymously.

However, in 2011, he was asked to gamble for money in Australia by former U.S college football player Owen Hanson. He however feared and suspected the gambling activity to precede to numerous criminal activities and notified the FBI immediately for assistance during his game with Hanson. Hanson was charged and convicted of drug trafficking after the game with R.J

Police discovered six encrypted cellphones Hanson had purchased from Phantom Secure, a company the RCMP had been investigating for a while due to notified tips regarding criminal activities they were pursuing.

During March 2018, the FBI arrested Phantom Secure CEO and founder VIncent Ramos in Washington State. The Federal Police in Australia raided several criminal locations and seized more than 1000 Phantom Secure cellphones which contained criminal contacts regarding drug dealing and trafficking.

18 months after the incident took place, RCMP arrested their own intelligence chief, Cameron Ortis, who was shockingly playing a large role in allegedly leaking operational information to Ramos.

According to sources,Ortis was offering and providing classified information to Ramos in exchange for illicit sums of money.

Ortis was arrested on September 12, 2019. Ortis was the director general of the RCMP’s National Intelligence Co-ordination Centre (NICC) for more than three years, and was   one of the highest-ranking civilian members in Canada’s federal police force, who had easy access to a large number of highly classified national and multinational investigations.But now he is facing eight counts of violating the Security of Information Act and two criminal counts.

According to sources, in 2018, RCMP was supporting FBI investigations into the respective company and astonishingly uncovered corruption which was coming from an internal source in the RCMP. This incident has caused Canada to take more precautions with their security and cross- referencing seeing that now there are possible threats to Canadian companies within the state and internationally.

Following a hearing in Ontario Superior Court, Ortis’s bail was denied of all priveledges due to his degree of tampering on Nov. 8, 2019, and was taken back into custody, where he remains waiting for his next trial. A tentative trial date has not been set.
