Donald Trump pledged to put America first and would be oblivious to what other countries are saying about the US which he successfully accomplished during his stint.
Donald Trump once said that if he was elected the president of the United States he would give utmost priority to the country leaving behind the opinions of all other countries on the US.
Here are the proofs that his goal is accomplished:
- A positive perception on America has recently dropped to a large extent according to the recent polls of several countries.
- In the year 2000, around 80 percent of the UK citizens were towards the US which fell down to just 41 percent of people feeling the same way which is the lowest number ever in the Pew data.
- Meanwhile in Germany, around 78 percent of its people had a positive opinion on the US which dipped to just 26 percent recently.
- The US’ neighbor country Canada too had a sense of approval by about 72 percent in the year 2000 which fell down to 35 percent in the year 2020.
But, what caused this downfall that too a drastic one?
The answer is Trump. A median rating of 13 countries who were confident about Trump to do the right thing in the world affairs fell down to just 16 percent and it is an alarming number.
Most of these ratings are affected due to his inability to deal with the coronavirus pandemic in a proper way.
Across 13 countries only 15 percent of the people have said that Trump has done a good job in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.
Trump and his followers and aids will back the Pew data by saying that these numbers are an evidence that how the other countries would not like if the US minds its own business and does not involve in other countries’ affairs.
Trump said in his acceptance speech last month at the Republic National Convention that he ran for the presidency last time just because he could not bear the sight of betrayal being done to the US any longer.
He said that he could not just sit and watch when other countries are taking advantage of the country’s trade, borders, and the foreign policy.
Other than Trump and his backers, everyone else can visibly see the damage done to the US by Trump by just watching these numbers.
However, on the other side of the coin lies Joe Biden, the Democratic candidate who said that his main focus would be to stand with his allies and friendly countries.
One thing that is crystal clear is that Trump is one isolated power who has chosen to follow his own strategies keeping aside the policies and strategies every US President has followed post World War 2.
His muscular and rhetoric dictatorship definitely has some serious consequences!
