With the coronavirus pandemic spreading all across the globe, the US Visa appointments have been cancelled to prevent further risks of spread of the virus in the country. Several of the US embassies across the globe and India have suspended the appointments as a preventive measure.
This suspension is expected to affect the Visa services in the countries with the US State Department travel advisory level of 2,3 or 4. These visa services have been temporarily halted and will resume as the conditions start getting better.
According to the reports, every person who missed their visa appointments will have be reschedule the same online at a later date.
The US Embassy stated saying, “U.S. Mission India posts, in light of the global COVID-19 pandemic, are cancelling immigrant and non-immigrant visa appointments from March 16, 2020, onward. Your visa appointment stands as cancelled.”
Once the US embassy and the consulates are back to work, every single appointment can be reschedules under the normal work operations going around.
All the American Centres that are present in New Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata and Mumbai will have all their services paused at the moment along with closed public access until further notice comes around.
India has already crossed 250 confirmed cases of coronavirus which is why the government and the officials are looking for better alternatives and better modes of precaution.
In light of the recent events, President Donald Trump also stated saying, “White House was discussing a “substantial” spending bill with Congress that would include immediate cash payments to Americans.”
