Nearly 150 Indians were deported from the US as they were held either for violating the visa rules or illegally entering America. They ended up landing at the Delhi airport on Wednesday morning.
A special aircraft which was carrying them landed early morning at 6am at the T3 terminal of the Delhi airport, says an official. The aircraft has been said to reach India via Bangladesh.
“This was the fourth time I have been deported,” said a deportee ,from Punjab’s Bhatinda, Singh Jabarjung.
“I boarded a flight on May 15 and reached Mexico via Moscow and Paris. From there, I tried to enter California on May 16 but was caught by police and deported from Arizona,” he added.
He said that he spent Rs 40 lakh on advocacy and 24lakhs in his four attempts that he made to get into the US.
The deportees have started to come out of the airport after they are done with the paper work with the immigration department. The officials said that, the people either violated the visa norms or were illegal immigrants.
More than 300 Indians which includes a woman were deported by Mexican immigration authorities on October 18, for entering the country in an illegal manner in order to sneak into the US.
