Winning a resounded election victory will now allow Boris Johnson to take Britain out of the European Union in matter of weeks.
PM Modi’s video has been used which says ‘Boris ko hamein jitana hai’ before the elections in order to woo the Indian voters. The conservative party has been closer to the BJP in recent years and the latest video that is set to a song with lyrics in Hindi contains images of PM Modi and the Indian high Commissioner, Ruchi Ghanashyam among the oithers.
The victory in the contest on Thursday, was a proof that he was right as Johnson’s 20-week tenure in power has been marked by chaotic scenes in parliament and the star divison on the streets over Britain’s tortuous departure from the European Union.
This has been the biggest win in Conservative national election since Margaret Thatcher’s in 1987 triumph.
“I think this will turn out to be a historic election that gives us now, in this new government, the chance to respect the democratic will of the British people,” Johnson said after winning his seat of Uxbridge.
It has been a disaster for Jeremy Corbyn, the left wing Labour leader who faced calls for his resignation even after the results were declared.
