Tamkeen Shaik an Indian woman from Ahemdabad has been chosen as the Conservative Party candidate for the Barking Constituency in UK’s December election as part of the Tories.
Shaikh worked as a journalist in India before she came to the UK. She came to the UK to pursue her Masters in media and management and it’s been 14 years that she is living in the UK now.
She is married with two kids and is working for the Education sector. She supports Boris Johnson and Brexit.
As she was named as the candidate she tweeted “Delighted to be selected as the Conservative Party Candidate for Barking. Hard work begins now! #BlueBarking”
She lives in Barking, her children go to school in Barking. Thus, she is familiar with the needs of local people and believes that the country deserves better.
She says that her main motto behind joining politics and the Conservative Party is to contribute back to society by creating opportunities for business and innovation.
Further she adds “The mantra that has worked for me is to be consistent and persistent’ that will lead you to achieve your goals. Indians are large economical contributors in the UK and continue to do so. The Indian community has integrated well within the community and are making huge progress in all sectors”
She vowed “I want to see a thriving high street that will benefit social enterprises and small businesses, providing jobs for residents. I am your local candidate representing the local people of Barking and I will get Brexit done”
