A new nationwide campaign was launched by a few eminent Indian Americans in the US for the removal of the green card backlog. The newly-launched group is named the GCReforms.org. The motive behind the campaign is to create awareness about the huge green card backlog. According to them, the impact of the green card is on nearly 300,00 high-skilled Indian applicants.
The announcement for the nationwide campaign comes in the wake of the details of its immigration reform sent by the White House to the Congress.
Sampat Shivangi, GcReforms.org President, said, “We not only support the physician groups involved in the immigration issues but also supports a fair green card allocation process for engineers and other professionals that are caught up in the quandary.”
Ved Nanda, evans distinguished university professor from 53 years at University of Denver Sturm college of law, said “I Strongly Support the Cause” in a statement issued by GCReforms.org.

GCReforms.org, the newly formed group has said that as per the current regulation, skilled immigrants from India need to wait between 25-92 years for a Green Card due to per-country limits.
Kiran Kumar Thota, one of the founding organization members, has said that the delays from the green card have to eliminated as this slows down American innovation and job creation.
Hindu American foundation director Rishi Bhutada said, “Many bright individuals who are hardworking and self- driven are always under stress to keep the same job role.”
The creator of From The Land Of Gandhi Film on Green Card backlog, Prakash Wadhwa, said, “The contributions of skilled immigrants to America and their issues need better understanding and recognition across America, coming together of the Green Card Reforms is a great initiative in that direction.”
