Krishnamoorthi, is backed by the former US president Barack Obama and in the past 10 months he has created a distinct space for himself in the US congress, through his articulate views on certain key issues like national security, immigration and economy.

Diganvker said he will be running for congress to provide a voice to the hard working middle class Americans.  A class that he said is often ignored by the career politicians in Washington DC. He wants stand up for these hard working people who have been left behind, including his own family.

He said “Immigrating to our great country, my family and I have experienced many highs and lows, We came here to achieve the American dream—to Suceed or fail by our hard work and commitment.”

He lost his two daughters in a tragic house fire in 1999, this drove this business owner to become a compassionate community servant.

He said he has seen himself how the heavy government regulations and rising health care costs can hurt the entrepreneurial spirit in anyone.

“I am not a politician. While most politicians pass laws yet never feel the effects of their actions, I come from real America. I have felt the struggles and know first-hand the consequences of Washington’s actions and inactions on issues important to the middle class families. I will be the voice of everyday americans in Washington” He said in a recent media release.

The US House of Representatives has four Indian Americans currently. Ami Bera from California is a three term law maker.

Others are Ro Khanna from california, Raja Krishnamoorthi from Illinois and Pramila Jayapal from Washington State, all of whom were elected to the congress last year  and will be seeking re-election next year.
