In a meeting with US State Secretary Rex Tillerson on Wednesday, Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has told that India is planning to retain its diplomatic mission in Pyongyang, North Korea, although President Trump is leaving no stones unturned to isolate DPRK for carrying out nuclear missile program.
India’s relations with North Korea was a key topic of discussion along with India’s diminishing trade with Afghanistan in the meeting, according to the sources quoted by the Hindustan Times.
The same issue is also expected to arise in the meeting when the President Trump will be heading to China next month.

In the press conference, Sushma Swaraj said that India’s embassy in Pyongyang is very small and India is planning to retain it as a channel of communication. She also requested other countries to have diplomatic missions in North Korea so that some channel of communication is always open.
EVen though North Korea and India maintains embassies in each other’s country, after the fresh sanctions of UN on North Korea, India has reduced the trade with the Kim Jong Un-ruled state for most of the goods except food and medicine.
