Two Indian origin sisters based in Toronto, has been arrested on charges of extorting and cyber-bullying a billionaire in Lagos, Nigeria. Jyoti and Kiran Matharoo are sisters and is “operating a website called NaijaGistLive” and has cyber-bullied a Nigerian oil tycoon Femi Otedola, who was in Forbes list of the richest billionaires in Africa this year, the National Post reported.
Both the sisters claimed that they had evidence of him cheating on his wife and threatened to post the evidence on the website, where they allegedly used to publish personal details of famous Nigerian men, the National Post cited local Nigerian news reports.

The sisters tried to extort money from rich men in order to not to go public with the details of their sexual indiscretions. They demanded money in order not to go public with the details. This was their “modus operandi”,’ claims Politics Nigeria.
‘It was also discovered that the girls recorded conversations and sex romps with their rich clients which comprise of politicians, club owners and businessmen. After the acts, they approach their victims through a third party, threatening them to pay thousands of dollars or risk the release of the recordings/pictures/videos online through their website Naijagistlive.’

The Nigerian news website Nigeria Politics reported that the sisters stand accused of being “responsible” for the website NaijaGistLive and several other social media accounts that are being used for “cyber-bullying” around 274 people, “mostly based in Africa”.
Global Affairs Canada, that manages Canada’s diplomatic and consular relations, had said it is providing consular services “to the Canadian citizens who were detained in Lagos”. The sisters have pleaded not guilty to the charges and are out on bail. They are scheduled to appear in court on January 26.
