The annual young influential people’s list published by Fortune contains 5 Indian-origin people, who are inspiring others with their work in the business area.
The Fortune’s “40 Under 40” list comprises of young influential people under the age of 40 in the field of business. The magazine calls these people as “disruptors, innovators, rebels and artists”.
The list has big names such as French President Emmanuel Macron, who successfully swept the elections in May. Macron, who is on the first place in the list, is also known as the France’s youngest leader since Napoleon. The list contains the name of 5 indian-origin people including the Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar.

Apart from this, the list contains the name of 26-year-old Divya Nag, who is the head of Apple’s ResearchKit and CareKit initiatives and encourage people to develop health-related apps.
The list also includes the names of 31-year-old Rishi Shah and 32-year-old Shradha Agrawal, who has worked in the health-related firm Outcome Health for more than 10 years, and 31-year-old Leila Janah, CEO and founder of nonprofit organization Samasource.
38-year-old Leo Varadkar, who is the Irish Prime Minister, comes from the family of Hindu immigrant from Mumbai, although Ireland has never been that open to mass immigrants.
The list is also filled with other prestigious names such as Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, Airbnb CEO and co-founders Brian Chesky, Nathan Blecharczyk, Joe Gebbia, tennis star Serena Williams, member of Congress Elise Stefanik and Global Head of Corporate Strategy of BlackRock, Geraldine Buckingham.
