The Punjab government’s Non-Residential Indian wing is initiating a procedure for getting back NRI husbands who left behind their wives in India.
Manjeet Singh GK, President of Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee and Manjinder Singh Sirsa, General Secratary wrote to Giani Gurbachan Singh, Jathedar of Akal Takht seeking for a complete enquiry of soon-to-be Nri grooms before the wedding rituals.
He likewise addressed letter to Rajnath Singh, Union Minister of Home Affairs, Sushma Swaraj, External Affairs Minister and Punjab Chief Minister Amrinder Singh.
According to NRI wing of Punjab government, there are about 30,000 married women with immigrant spouses.
He further said, DSGPC would be forming NRI cell for such concerns.
