Nearly 200 Indian-American organisations came forward to support and praise the citizens of India for being disciplined and aware of the situation in maintaining social distancing consciously. They have fortified the kind of situation that India has maintained through this moment of crisis, especially when the numbers are consistently increasing without a stop.
According to the statistic reports from John Hopkins University, the novel coronavirus has already infected over 1.6 million people and caused over 95,000 deaths globally.
The death toll in India is currently at 199, with over 6400 confirmed cases, as on Friday as informed by the ministry of health.
In a message of solidarity as shared by these Indian-Americans, they said that they “salute the efforts” of not just the individuals but also the international organisations, both the government and private entities and the public and social sectors that are consistently working posing a huge personal risk to ensure everyone at home is safe.
The message further stated saying, “We would especially like to commend the mammoth efforts of the Indian government and states working cohesively under the able leadership of PM Modi for the wide-ranging and timely measures to address this issue and to alleviate the inevitable hardship that they will endure during this time of lock-down.”
The Indian-Americans organisations further mentioned in the message that they salute the citizens who are taking things the way they should be and doing things consciously during these testing times.
They further said to all the citizens to keep their trust intact and to stay strong during this time of crisis as this too shall pass. They also urged the fellow Indians to follow the guidelines that Prime Minister Narendra Modi tells during these testing times.
“All of us in the USA and the rest of the world share in the suffering and stand united in our resolve to see the world through this crisis for a brighter and better tomorrow,” the message further read.
