Early Monday, at the 105 Freeway in the Vermont Vista area of Los Angeles, a car crashed into a barrier on the southbound 110 Freeway. Two teenagers lost their life and a young woman and a teenage girl were badly injured.
As per the California Highway Patrol Officer Patrick Kimball, this crash was reported at 12.14 a.m.
According to CHP Officer K. Martinez and other officials, the people who lost their life was a 17-year-old driver, Luis Daniel Quinonez of Los Angeles, and two passengers, a 19-year-old woman and a 17-year-old girl.
Martinez said that the injured were a 19-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl. Their names were not released immediately. However, all the victims were from Los Angeles.
According to investigation, the driver let the 2009 Nissan move to the right and crash into the attenuator barrels within the gore point.
Further, Martinez mentioned that the freeway barriers designed to keep vehicles from crossing over to the wrong side of the road.
As per the officer, two women victims were removed from the car. The 17-year-old girl was recognized dead at Harbor UCLA Medical Center where the other injured passengers were taken.
All of them who died were not wearing seat belts. The CHP was told by witnesses that gray Nissan Altima had travelled about 70 mph before it hit the attenuators.
At the time of the crash, heavy fog was reported in that area.
