10-Year-Old Boy Donates Rs 30,000 for Treatment of Poor Patients from His Pocket Money

The 10-year-old boy from Sydney has donated a sum of Rs 30,000 from saving pocket money for years for the treatment of poor patients at Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education & Research, Chandigarh.

Gurkiret Singh is following the footprints of his grandmother who donated all her life savings of Rs 60 lakh for the welfare of poor and needy.

Talking to Newsline, Harbajan Kaur said, ’’It is pleasing to see that my third generation is also carrying forward the teachings of Sikh gurus, who emphasized on the joy of giving.’’

She added that the poor people need our help and we must come together to do as much as we can for them.

In the past four months, the family has donated Rs 2,20,000 for the sake of the treatment of hapless patients.

Gurkiret said that he had been saving money for donation and helping the poor.

Up to now, Kaur has donated close to Rs 22 Lakh for the treatment of 37 patients at PGI.
